Even if he was mentally ill, it’s still his choices that define his shitty personality. Don’t excuse inexcusable actions with mental illness. Adam also had reason to be a terrible person, to go down a dark path and he actively chose to be good. I hate it when people use mental illness as an excuse then ignore actual mentally ill people when they need help. It happens all the time in the real world. Everyone ignores mental illness and the help they could give to mentally ill people until they need to cite mental illness to excuse a crime.
